Cornell College Forensics

(Changing the world, one speech at a time)

The Cornell Speech Team provides an opportunity for extracurricular speech activities with competition year-round in the Midwest and some national competitions in the spring. Categories include both public address and interpretive events. This is a competitive club which emphasizes fun and education.

Two Cornellians competed in the AFA/NIET national tournament in Long Beach, California April 2-5, 2004. Jennifer Hebel qualified in Extemporaneous Speaking and Mike Storr qualified in Persuasive Speaking and Poetry Interpretation. Congratulations, Mike and Jennifer! Thank you to everyone who made this possible (you know who you are). A special thanks to Dean Moore's office and Student Senate for helping to pay for all our expenses this year.
