Senate Elections:
This block, Student Senate will be holding elections for General Assembly positions. This year, in accordance with our newly approved Senate Constitution, there will be 16 representatives, 4 from each class. For more information on the new election system, please contact Nick Light, Student Senate President. If you are interested in running, please see the election schedule below:
Mandatory Candidate Meeting (Senate Office, Attend one): September 3rd @ 11:30 am or 6 PM or September 4th @ 11:30 am or 6 PM
Petition Due: Thursday, September 17th @ noon to box #997
Candidate Meet and Greet and Speeches (Orange Carpet): Friday, September 18th @ 11:00 am
Elections: Monday, September 21 - Tuesday, September 22, 8 AM to 8 AM
Constitution Changes:
In May 2009, Students voted for the newly revised Student Senate Constitution. This referendum vote passed with 71% of students in favor of the new changes. This newly revised Constitution will take effect next year. Below, you will find the major changes to the Constitution along with the newly revised version of the Constitution. Need money for your group?
Contact Emory Wesson, Chair of the Appropriations Committee. You will be required to submit an Appropriations request. Organization budget sessions will be held in the spring of each academic year.
Want to start a new organization? Need help writing or rewriting the constitution?
Contact Taylor Koch, Chair of the Organizations Committee. Defunct groups may have a previous constitution. Constitutions must be presented to the Organizations committee for ratification.
