About Student Senate

MISSION STATEMENT: Student Senate is the primary means for students’ participation in the governance of the Cornell community. We work to provide communication between students, faculty, staff, and administration.

Student Senate provides appropriations
and support to over 80 groups on campus.

Students are represented by both class and hall representatives. Elections for both hall and class representatives are held during the first block of the academic year.

Six Executive Council positions are held within Senate as well, and are the following: President, Vice-President, Chair of Appropriations, Chair of Student Life, Chair of Organizations, and Chair of Academic Affairs.
