Kirsten Egerstrom: I’m a senior and have taken 10 courses in philosophy. My first course in philosophy was Intro; however, I truly became interested in the subject when I took Ethics my freshman year. My favorite areas of philosophy are metaphysics, Asian philosophy, and postmodernism. My favorite philosophers would have to be Schopenhauer, Kierkegaard, and Hegel, to name a few. When I get in a philosophical mood, I typically bring up perplexing philosophical questions to my roommates and friends until they tell me I’m weird, and then I turn to books. I am currently reading Carl Jung’s, Memories, Dreams, Reflections, which is really a great philosophical work. If I could eat dinner with one famous philosopher, dead or alive, I would choose Kierkegaard, because I would find his words to be inspirational. |
