 Diana Simeonova: I’m currently a senior and have taken approximately 10 classes in philosophy. I’m not sure that I’ll further pursue a master’s degree in philosophy but if I do I want to attend the Ayn Rand Institute. I first became interested in philosophy when I was fifteen and talked about philosophy with people I hung out with. My favorite area in philosophy is Asian philosophy and some of my favorite philosophers are Plato, Ayn Rand, and Chang Tzu. My favorite philosophy novels include A lost horizon, 1984, The Stranger, and Farewell to Arms while my favorite movie is Mindwalk. If I could have dinner with a famous philosopher dead or alive I would like to dine with Ayn Rand because I deeply appreciate her philosophy. The one philosophical quote I truly agree with and rely on is “I am not unlike a prisoner who dreams an imaginary freedom but while sleeping fears being awakened and conspires with pleasant illusions.”- Descartes. |
