Day of the Dead THE COMMONS
The Day of the Dead is a is a day celebrated throughout of Latin America in which they remember those that have passed on and celebrate their life. In Mexico, elaborate altars are erected in homes with the pictures of the dead on it, also, the favorite food of those who passed is placed on the alter because it is believed that the dead will come into their homes and absorb the essence of the food as well as its nutritional values. In Venezuela, the grave of those who have passed is visited by their families and candles and flowers are placed upon the graves and the family spends the entire night over their grave praying for their souls and remembering their lives. |
