About us
The purpose of the German Club is to stimulate interest in German culture and to give students the opportunity to us the German language in informal situations.
Recent activities of the Stammtisch have been trips to the Amana Colonies, sponsoring a reading and conversation group (GER 511), showing German movies from the library's and member's video collections, German dinners, the occasional German party, a visit from the MERZ jazz-dada performers, a trip to the German-language Christmas service in Iowa City, and meeting with visiting speakers at Cornell, especially those talking about the Holocaust and those giving the annual Kollman Lecture in European history.
