The portion of Live Chess that was played was a success, and even ended on time!
JenCon scheduling is complete, and the schedule is up in the JenCon(main) section, so you should really check that out. Especially since JenCon is coming in just a week and a half.
Also, all you chess players, afficionados, groupies (surely some exist), or just people who like games where you think about things in competition with another person -- you should come to the chess tournament in the Martin Luther King room (lower Commons) on May 10th (1st weekend of 9th block), We hope to get started by 1:30PM, and end by 5:00PM. Come for the fun, play really well for the $25 first prize.
Live Chess on the OC did not happen today as planned. There were not enough people, not to mention the setup was late getting started (blast that Busby!). Though he did come up with an interesting idea: Live Chess Puzzles...
Nevertheless, the organization known as Chess Committee will regroup and reschedule. The new date for Live Chess on the OC is Thursday, April 17, 2008. Go go!
The deadlines for a few things are coming up pretty soon, first Live Chess (I *really* need people to be pieces). Please, please please email me with your piece preferences. I'm working on a web form, but I'm not sure it'll be finished quickly enough. So far I have around 10 people. That means I need about 24 more.
Update: I have a chess piece submission form working. It's on the left. Use it or email me as stated before. It's still under construction, but it does its job for the time being.
Also, the deadline for JenCon game submissions is coming up soon -- the first Friday after spring break. There are a few games in, but there aren't even any scheduling conflicts yet.
Also, PAY FOR YOUR JENCON SHIRTS BY THE FRIDAY AFTER SPRING BREAK!
Also note the new and improved ordering of news items where the newest ones will be at the top, most likely to catch your eye. Stupid quotation marks, ruining the former webmonkey's great ideas...
